WHAT: The Girls on the Run 5k is the culmination of the GOTR 10-12 week program that serves over 1000 girls a year in Hunterdon, Bucks & Warren Counties. June 2nd marks the celebration of their Spring season!
Join the council in their event on the well known Flemington Turkey Trot course and consider the 5k event as a great Turkey Trot time trial!
Due to insurance and safety requirements, we request that baby/jogging strollers or service dogs line up near the back of the runners. We do not permit bicycles, skateboards, or roller skates/blades, on the course.

WHY: Based in Charlotte, N.C., Girls on the Run is a nonprofit organization with local Councils in all 50 states. Founded in 2006 with a handful of girls in Delaware Township, Girls on the Run of Hunterdon, Warren and Bucks Counties now serves close to 1000 girls a year.
Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event. With the largest 5K series by number of events in the world, Girls on the Run hosts more than 330 5Ks per year
Anyone who has been to a Girls on the Run 5K knows that it is unlike any other running event. Positive energy abounds as the girls dance to warm-up music, get their hair “happied” and "tattoos" on their faces, and gather with their teammates to hold hands as they head to the starting line. Join us this May and see why we say the Finish Line is just your beginning!
AWARDS:
There are no awards for top finishers, but all participants in the race will receive a medal at the finish line.
